Somaliland Students Association in Taiwan (SSAT)
The Somaliland Students Association in Taiwan (SSAT) was officially formed in 2023, marking a milestone for diaspora unity and representation. Born out of a growing academic community, SSAT began as an informal gathering and quickly formalized into an inclusive student-led organization. Its core mission is to connect Somaliland students across Taiwan, fostering academic collaboration, cultural bonding, and peer support. SSAT organizes regular workshops, cultural events, and study groups, ensuring newcomers feel welcomed and integrated. Beyond academic support, SSAT engages in community outreach, hosting awareness sessions about Somaliland’s culture and democratic ambitions, empowering members with leadership opportunities, and contributing to the long-term visibility of Somaliland’s diaspora.
