The SSAT was founded in 2023 to connect, support, and empower Somaliland students pursuing higher education in Taiwan.

History

The Somaliland Students Association in Taiwan (SSAT) began in 2023 as an informal gathering of students studying Masters and PhD programs across Taiwan. Recognizing the need for a structured organization to connect the growing Somaliland student community, SSAT was officially formed, providing a platform for academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and community engagement. Since its inception, SSAT has been pivotal in unifying students and fostering a sense of identity and belonging.

To create a strong, connected, and thriving Somaliland student community in Taiwan, contributing positively to academia and society.

To empower Somaliland students through academic support, cultural activities, leadership development, and community engagement initiatives.
