Dr. Edna Ismail’s Taiwan Visit: Strengthening Bonds and Shared Values

Dr. Edna Adan Ismail, a prominent figure in Somaliland’s diplomatic and educational spheres, as well as a staunch advocate for women’s rights, embarked on a significant visit to Taiwan. This visit, made possible through an invitation from the Chou Ta-kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation, was marked by several noteworthy events, celebrating both the strengthening bilateral relationship between Taiwan and Somaliland and the shared values that bind them.

One of the key highlights of Dr. Edna’s visit was her participation in a series of charitable events titled “Light Up Life, Illuminate the Earth,” organized by the Chou Ta-kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation. During her visit, Dr. Ismail had the privilege of meeting with Taiwan’s Foreign Minister, Joseph Wu, and was accompanied by a delegation from Edna Adan University, including Vice President Mustafe Hassan Dahir and lawyer Ayan Aden. Additionally, Dr. Edna Ismail had the honor of meeting with President Tsai Ing-wen, where she was recognized with the 26th Fervent Global Love of Lives award alongside other distinguished recipients.
